Louie’s Kids Day in Honor of the Wells Fargo Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Game
Who would have thought we would have our very own DAY!?! Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. proclaimed August 4th to be Louie’s Kids Day in the City Of Charleston in honor of our Wells Fargo Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Challenge. We are so thrilled and excited for the honor. Super Bowl Champion Jim Stuckey joined us in City Hall to hear the proclamation; what a wonderful day indeed!

Seeking Celeb Players for 2012 ~ Get Involved!
It’s that time again! Yep, Celebrity/Publicist/Manager/Assistant to the Assistant to the Assistant Begging & Pleading is underway! Should you know of any celebrity that may want to come to our little corner of the world in August to play ball, please send them our way, or us their way so we can connect and seal the deal! Last year was so much fun, and I truly can’t wait for this year’s game to happen again. Rarely does that happen in the event world but this time it did. I was ready to do it all over again the minute the car was loaded and the parking lot was empty, and I missed our new friends already. The fans had a great day and our players sure did so I can’t wait to do it all over again in August so we can fulfill our mission of fighting childhood obesity one child at a time…. Need a better reason than a fun day to want to get involved and participate in our game on August 4th. Here she is:

What an AMAZING day at the ballpark!
WOW, what a day! We cannot begin to put into words what an amazing experience we had at our Inaugural Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Challenge this weekend! Team Piggly Wiggly stole the show with a 6-3 win over Team Wells Fargo, Fans heard Darius Rucker do what he does best when he sang the National Anthem to start the game, the weather was SPECTACULAR, and kids young and old got to run the bases and hang out in the dugouts with the celebrities. We here at Team Louie’s Kids and Team Run Buddies couldn’t have asked for a better day at the ballpark, and we thank everyone that had a part in making our first year a huge success!

Miss South Carolina, Bree Boyce, is coming to our game and she will being singing a song at the start of the game! We are so excited to have her join us on October 1 for the Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Game. Not only is she amazingly talented and beautiful but she is an inspiration to us at Louie’s Kids. Read all about her story here.
